Live Healthy Longer
Living longer in itself is not necessarily on the top of my wish list. What is close to the top, though, is to living a healthy AND long life. If that includes living longer, great. And then, for me it really needs to add a third and fourth piece or is it second and third: living healthy, passionate, green AND long. Wow! Yes! You know, just thinking about what it means to Thrive On Green, makes my day.
There is a whole industry out there providing many potions, lotions, remedies, supplements, tools, equipment and techniques to live healthier and longer. I have no idea if any of these things work or not, and do not make ever any recommendations in regards to health. On the other hand, sharing about conscious living and what it entails makes a lot of sense.
When I was growing up I heard from my grandparents stories about how they endured extended times in their lives when they were hungry, sometimes very hungry, sometimes literally starving, as there was nothing available to eat. I always wondered if that is the reason why several folks of that generation I know, who experienced that and survived all the perils at that time, did live long and mostly incredibly healthy into high age. Today many people do temporary fasts, shorter and longer ones, and from what I have been told experience great health benefits, if not overdoing it.
I am not at all surprised to find some confirmation from scientific studies that say consuming less calories is the best way to healthy and young as well as longer life.
