Inspired by Green Living

This site’s purpose is to inform, provide resources and support taking steps to thrive on green living. This touches all areas of the human experience, from the kitchen spoon to the scientific laboratory, how we care for our children to growing our food and from our workplace to our meditation. To Thrive On Green is a way to live, give and enterprise in a way that is nurturing, caring, wholesome, fair and good for people, planet and, yes, profit, “green profit” that is!

Maybe for some “living green” is a contradiction in itself and thriving on green sheer impossible. No wonder, considering how much abuse the word “green” has received in recent times. As a matter of fact, once the word “green” entered the business world and started to become common, it has often been used to increase revenue in spite of those so-called green practices causing harmful effects instead of employing genuine green methods. We all heard the term “green washing” – everyone suddenly started using the word green in their advertising as if they were the inventors of the concept.

Wherever you stand in this discussion, what is proclaimed green today is sometimes as wasteful, polluting, energy inefficient, socially harmful or at a scale that seems to be opposite to its original meaning.

And there is, on the other hand, the same amount of incredibly successful and awe inspiring projects, enterprises, social innovations and research that adds many dimensions and understandings to what “green” means and how to realize it. This site is based on the believe that a truly green world, in the sense of social, financial and ecological sustainability, is not only possible, but can form the basis of a highly thriving, enriching and connected culture that is in tune, as a part, of the earth’s ecosystems.

Do you think this all a pie in the sky? Well, can’t really answer that for you. If you have any interest, I’ll invite to follow this site as a source of material, resources, information, tools, projects and much more that will become available to see for yourself. For me it is a most fascinating, exciting and thrilling venture to take all the human creativity, ingenuity, abilities, brilliance and sheer joyous gumption to dare imagine, envision, live and manifest in a way that is infused by the passion to create a world that provides for our needs, heals, connects and invigorates our eco-sphere, supporting a thriving, “green” humanity.

One of the most powerful forces in our world today is money, finances and economy and many of its off-shoots, like marketing, corporate law, investing and lobbying, etc. This is one of many topics we will talk about together and look at “green” ways. The one thing I wanted to bring to your attention here is that, yes, this site will promote products and services and at the same time I do urge you to make a powerful statement by exercising your free choice. This power you have is as a matter of fact so powerful that it can literally change the world very quickly – of course for the better – or in my words – for the greener! This power you have is how you choose to use your money, your wallet, your assets, what you decide to purchase, when, where and how much. Please, don’t underestimate that power and do use your power also on this site! I rather support you to take steps towards greener living than having you buy anything from this site or from any other place. So, please  – purchase very consciously what increases your quality of life, what fulfills your needs satisfactory and what is supporting a green economy! Part of a green world consists, in my view, also in giving – freely, no strings attached. This will become part of the spirit in which these pages are made available to you. There is much more to this vision, which I will share at other times.

Just by looking at the many different topics that will be covered on these pages alone,  it seems inevitable and I have experienced in my own life, that it can become overwhelming to even start or continue on ones journey of sustainable, green living without direct personal support. I find it so important that, if one is drawn to that, we are both stepping on our personal journey of growth as well include the thriving on green aspect, that I decided to offer help. What is going on around us can be incredibly challenging. What is going on in our own lives can make the road become bumpy. I do understand the experience of both the alienation and the euphoria one can experience, when realizing what an individual or people and communities can inflicting on this world and each other, just by living our lives.  And, sometimes this is beyond the practical, technical and informational aspects of living a thriving green life. Is there a point to live in a perfectly green world and feel gray inside? In my world, both need to go hand in hand, a “green” world inside and outside, otherwise it does not make much sense.

I do hope this gives you a first glimpse into what I am attempting with this site: pouring my passion into something I believe deeply in, be of service, heal and repair damage in the vast arena of our planet’s system and our personal practices, develop new concepts for truly greening our human way of living and use the power of our economic systems to make positive change happen for all of us!
